Absolute Opera in association with Bill Elms present a series of must-see musical theatre shows which will debut at the Epstein Theatre this October.
Matinee Musical Classics and Music of the Night come to the Hanover Street venue on Sunday 20 October.
The first in a new series that celebrates the very best West End and Broadway musicals and feature the most iconic classic musical theatre hits of all time. The shows will star Liverpool based internationally acclaimed classical Tenor, Roy Locke, as well as a very special West End guest star to be announced in the coming weeks.
Roy’s spectacular vocals and ability to bring the power and emotion of some of the most famous musical roles of all time to any stage, makes him a true star and a firm favourite of audiences worldwide. His portrayal of The Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom Of The Opera was met with critical and audience acclaim – playing the infamous character world-wide in three different productions.
Matinee Musical Classics promises an afternoon of sing-along classics from theatre’s golden age. Perfect for audiences young and old alike, this very special afternoon performance of music and entertainment will include a selection of all-time musical classic hits.
From iconic operatic masterpieces such as Nessun Dorma, to the timeless classics of the great Nat King Cole, to Dean Martin’s That’s Amore. Music Of The Night is a spectacular evening of the best loved West End and Broadway musicals including Les Misérables, West Side Story, The Lion King and of course The Phantom Of The Opera. This magical and enchanting evening is must-see entertainment for all musical lovers.
There will also be a pre-performance talk, Secrets of a Phantom, in the theatre bar prior to the evening performance. Roy Locke will give audiences a fascinating insight into life as The Phantom and reveal entertaining behind-the-scenes stories of his whirlwind career. Roy’s breath-taking voice promises to take audiences on an emotional, sentimental and uplifting journey through some of the greatest works of Western music.
These five-star, out-of-your-seat, sing-along shows are pure class entertainment not to be missed.
