This Christmas will see J.M. Barrie’s magical story of Peter Pan brought to life in gigantic proportions on some of the biggest stages in the country. Starring Martin Kemp and Milton Jones, Peter Pan – The Arena Adventure will play at Belfast, SSE Arena between 15-16 December, Leeds First Direct Arena between 21-23 December and Manchester Arena between 28-29 December.
Reprising his role as the ultimate baddie Captain Hook is acclaimed actor and Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp, who instilled fear across London and Birmingham audiences during his previous turn as the villainous pirate with a slight aversion of ticking crocs. Playing Hook’s simple-minded right-hand man Mr Smee, is the pun-tastic hilarious comedian and star of BBC Two’s Mock The Week, Milton Jones, who will be swashbuckling his way across the seven seas for the very first time. Matt Knight, who is once again playing the role of Peter Pan was in the band Iron Sun, who were semi-finalists in the BBC entertainment series Let It Shine.
Both Martin and Milton are joined by a cast of over 100 performers including Cirque performers, Irish dancers and also children from local Pauline Quirke Academies. The enormous show also features a seven meter long animatronic crocodile, a life size Jolly Roger Galleon sailing around the arena in front of a 10,000 gallon water wall and the highest human Peter Pan flight ever staged.
Martin Kemp said: “I can’t wait to be Captain Hook again after the amazing success of Wembley and Birmingham last year where this show blew me and audiences away. It was dubbed the World’s Biggest Pantomime, but it is so much more than a panto. It’s completely different and the special effects are astonishing.”
Milton Jones added: “It’s my first venture into a Christmas show and what a spectacular this will be! I love the fact it is so huge and something completely different, whilst still having an element of traditional Xmas fun.”
Peter Pan – The Arena Adventure is produced by WBP Ltd.
