Scottish favourites, Texas, release a lovely, summery slice of soul with new single ‘You Can Call Me’, taken from their critically-acclaimed new album, ‘Hi’. The album charted at number 3 on release at the end of May, the band’s highest charting studio album since ‘The Hush’ in 1999. Listen to the track HERE.

The band are also the first act to be announced to play BBC Radio 2 Live. The band will perform at St Luke’s in Glasgow on Thursday 5th August in front of a small audience of fans.

Sharleen Spiteri said: “I’m always excited to play in Glasgow, our home town! And I’m thrilled to be performing for the first time at St. Luke’s for Radio 2 Live.” Tickets will be allocated via a ballot following registration at bbc.co.uk/radio2.

Texas’ 10th album, ‘Hi’ is a stunning result of looking back with eyes fixed firmly on the future. Collaborations include ‘Dark Fire’, written with Richard Hawley, a lovely tune that recalls the spirit of a slow dance at a high school prom while ‘Look What You’ve Done’, is an intoxicating, classic duet where Sharleen trades verses with Clare Grogan (Altered Images).

Other highlights include the swaggering collaboration with the Wu-Tang Clan on the title track, the soul-soaked ‘Mr Haze’ and the nostalgic, ‘Just Wanna Be Liked’.

Texas play the following UK dates in 2022. Tickets on sale now from HERE.
