Having just wrapped up a 14 date UK headline run, Ward Thomas release their gorgeous new single ‘One More Goodbye’, taken from the duo’s Top 10 album ‘Restless Minds’, out now on WTW Music/Sony Music.
The girls were also recently awarded the prestigious Jeff Walker Global Artist Award by the Country Music Association (CMA) during this year’s Country To Country Festival at the O2 in recognition of their achievements in spreading the country genre internationally.
Beginning with a simple yet soulful piano line, the emotional ballad builds to an anthemic climax, with a choir adding further depth and emotion to the beautifully poignant lyrics. “This song is about savouring that last moment, that last goodbye,” Ward Thomas said of the song. “Maybe saying goodbye forever or maybe for a long time or just an unknown amount of time. For us it’s one of the album’s most emotional moments.”
Restless Minds is the follow up to their 2016 No.1 charting major label debut ‘Cartwheels’ and firmly establishes Ward Thomas as leading exponents of new wave country tinged pop.
The sisters support Jack Savoretti on his European tour this spring. They also head to Australia in April to support David Gray and to appear at Bluesfest in Byron Bay alongside Hozier, Nora Jones and Jack Johnson.
