As well as treating fans with a selection of the band’s indie classics, and offering three acoustic & signing sessions (Nottingham, Bristol and London), the band will be performing for the first time new material from their new album, now due for release on January 14th due to ongoing pandemic related issues. In partnership with local record stores, this intimate tour will end with a midnight album release show at The Invisible Wind Factory in Liverpool, where The Wombats’ saga started. All the dates are listed below.
Regarding the one week push back of the album release, The Wombats are saying: ‘Hi friends due to ongoing pandemic related issues, the release date for our new album ‘Fix Yourself, Not The World’ will be pushed back 1 week and will now be released on January 14th 2021. We hope you survive the extra 7 days without it, but not to worry…we’re going to be playing it live for you a week early as a treat’
The announcement follows the release of The Wombats’ latest single ‘Everything I Love Is Going To Die’, an upbeat homage to living to the fullest, premiered as BBC Radio 1’s ‘Hottest Record In The World’ on the Future Sounds Show with Clara Amfo. The track also received support from Jack Saunders on his Radio 1 Indie Show and was played in Rickie, Melvin and Charlie’s BBC Radio 1’s morning show. “If you get a chance to watch them, do it – they are brilliant live” Melvin Odoom said in praise of the band.
With their biggest ever UK headline tour set for 2022, including a landmark show at London’s The O2, recent single ‘If You Ever Leave, I’m Coming With You’ which enjoyed 7 weeks of Radio 1 playlist rotation, Tramlines Festival’s performance and Fix Yourself, Not The World due for release on 14th January, this is only the start of what’s to come as fans new and old gear up for the next exciting chapter from one of Britain’s most adored bands.
