Today, it is announced that Birmingham grime legends The Streets join the line-up for this year’s Margate Summer Series. The Mike Skinner fronted collective will be heading to Dreamland Margate for a huge, headline gig. Taking place on Friday 8 September 2023, tickets go on general sale on Friday 3 March at 9am via www.margatesummerseries.co.uk.
Pioneers of UK garage, The Streets have cemented themselves as one of the most influential groups in British music culture since bursting onto the scene with seminal album ‘Original Pirate Material’ in 2002. Twenty years on, The Streets remain groundbreaking with a captivating catalogue of hits including Fit But You Know It, Has It Come To This?, Blinded By The Lights, Dry Your Eyes and 2022’s Brexit At Tiffany’s. In September, they’ll be at Dreamland Margate for a grime masterclass which is not to be missed.
Margate Summer Series will also host the Funk & Soul Weekender this summer, along with even more huge headline gigs from Bastille, Primal Scream and the Happy Mondays, Tom Jones, Placebo and Olly Murs. Tickets for these shows are on sale now.
