CHEWING COTTON WOOL is the first full body of work from THE JAPANESE HOUSE (aka Amber Bain) since her critically acclaimed debut album GOOD AT FALLING, released in 2019 via Dirty Hit.

The new EP is produced by Amber and BJ Burton (Bon Iver, Francis & The Lights, Low & Banks) and features the previous singles CHEWING COTTON WOOL and SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE alongside the new single DIONNE featuring Justin Vernon) and the previously unreleased track SHARING BEDS. The new EP follows four previous EPs, praised for their “experimental and impressive” (DIY) sound, adored by both critics and fans alike.

In late 2019 Amber headed out on the road to perform the EP live – just before the world’s gigs would be forced to hit pause – which included a stellar night at London Electric Brixton; a perfected live set owing to a whirlwind breakthrough which included arena shows across the UK supporting label mates The 1975, landing a spot on the prestigious BBC Sound of 2017 Longlist, winning a Gay Times Honour for Excellence in Music Award, a raft of sold out headline shows throughout the UK, a huge US tour and festival shows including Reading, Leeds and Latitude.
