Alt/pop artist Tally Spear has returned with her brand new commanding single, Death Anxiety. The thumping, urgent chorus showcases Tally’s soaring vocals, and is complemented by the pulsing melody. Listen to Death Anxiety here, and watch the video co-directed and edited by Tally herself here.
Recorded in a bedroom in Peckham, Tally has explained of the track, “The human element of songwriting and music is what matters most to me, and using my voice as boldly as I can. Death Anxiety is about using death as a motivation to live, and using anxiety about failure as motivation to succeed.”
In celebration of Death Anxiety’s release, Tally will headline Paper Dress Vintage in Hackney on 6th September. She will be joined by singer/songwriter and producer, Tom Saint, plus some special guests which are yet to be announced. Tickets are on sale here.
Since the London-based artist’s release last year (Fun House), she has been honing her craft and writing and recording the music she has always wanted to, her own brand of ‘grit pop’. Tally is her own boss; she writes and performs on all of her music, self-releases all of her music and self-funds all her live shows.
Tally’s passions go further than just music; raised as a vegan, she is also a keen animal rights activist, and is a massive fan of sustainable and cruelty-free fashion. Ever since Tally could hold a pen, the chanteuse has been writing poetry and stories. A trained pianist and self-taught guitarist, the multi-talented artist started writing and playing music at a very young age. Brought up on powerhouses such as Carole King and Bob Dylan, Tally’s own sound is an amalgamation of her punk attitude and pop sensibilities.
