Multi-faceted artist Louis Dunford has released his stunning cover of East 17’s single ‘Stay Another Day’. The track arrives alongside an official music videos directed by Dora Paphides. Watch HERE.
Speaking about ‘Stay Another Day’, Louis says: “The original song was number one when my cousin Ted was born so lots of memories hearing it at family Christmas parties. It was originally a joke idea to cover it then after giving it a go, realized it sounded good!”
Following Louis’ incredible sold out headline shows at Lafayette and St Pancras Old Church earlier this year, Louis has also today announced his highly anticipated UK tour which will take place in April 2022. Louis will kick things off by supporting Jake Bugg on his Bristol, Oxford and Southampton dates, before setting off on his own headline tour playing across Brighton, Leeds, Nottingham, Dublin, Birmingham Manchester and London’s iconic Union Chapel which sold out in a week. Tickets for the rest of the tour dates are on sale here.
‘Stay Another Day’’ follows on from Louis’ recent single ‘My Generation’, and acclaimed EP The Morland which featured five tracks that encompass Louis’ honesty, humour and sheer likeability. From the depth of personal emotion showcased on Ballad of Benjamin to the cheerfully nostalgic lead track When We Were Hooligans, the EP was a perfect introduction to the unique sound of Louis Dunford.
Louis has had a rapid rise to success in a short space of time and has garnered key tastemaker support from i-D, Clash, Complex, SBTV and Wonderland. With a notebook never too far, Louis nostalgically writes about his own observations of friends, family and life, always telling stories that need to be told. Using his songs like a journal, his lyrics are often a cathartic release and a way to honestly approach tragedy or share everyday humour through frank storytelling and raw and gritty delivery.
Expect a run of new music and exciting announcements from Louis as he heads into what is set to be a huge 2022. Louis’ festive cover of ‘Stay Another Day’ is out now.
