Prolific French artist SebastiAn today releases a brand-new song ‘Beograd’ – the third to be taken from his sophomore album, ‘Thirst’, which is released 25th October via Ed Banger Records / Because Music.
Last month, SebastiAn announced new music – his first in 8 years – which follows his 2011 debut album, ‘Total’. In May, he released the single ‘Run For Me’ featuring acclaimed US R&B singer Gallant and the track ‘Thirst’.
SebastiAn says of ‘Beograd’: “I wrote the track while I was in Belgrade for a few days. I was inspired by the idea of making a festive clubbing track, somehow empowered by the Slavic intensity.”
SO ME says of the video: “I always had a soft spot for his music and I got to direct his first music video for a track called ‘Embody’. The video was following the steps of an imaginary dancer in the city of Los Angeles and you could say that the video for ‘Beograd’ takes things where we left them off.
Parisian producer, DJ, musician and artist SebastiAn has been releasing pioneering and acclaimed music via label Ed Banger Records for years. Since his debut album, SebastiAn has also produced for other artists including Frank Ocean, Kavinsky, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Philippe Katerine, Woodkid, and has created remixes for Daft Punk, Kelis, The Kills, Rage Against the Machine and more.
SebastiAn’s debut album featured his signature eclectic combination of sounds – techno, electro, house, funk, soul, pop and classical elements – to create something new and a sound unique to him. He has also co-produced several film soundtracks including Quentin Dupieux’s ‘Steak’ (2007) – in which he also had a leading role – and Romain Gavras’ ‘Our Day Will Come’ (2010) and ‘The World is Yours’ (2018).
