Sea Girls today drop the lyric video for their latest track ‘Hometown’ – taken from their highly-anticipated new album Homesick – out 25th March 2022 on Polydor.

The lyric video sees footage from Sea Girls’ recent sold out, packed-to-the-rafters O2 Academy Brixton show, with The Telegraph stating that the “show felt like the start of something brilliant and modern”. Watch HERE.

“Every hometown has its own identity – all of them are exciting and rewarding to visit for different reasons”, says frontman Henry Camamile. “We made this video from footage of one show on the tour – it’s just one of those special stories. We want to be a part of your story, you’re already a part of ours.”

Originally premiered by Clara Amfo on Radio 1 as her Future Sounds single, ‘Hometown’ fully encapsulates the spirit of the record and is an album opener to be proud of. Written on Henry’s first day home during the pandemic, it’s an epic statement of intent, with Killers-sized hooks – but one that’s also real, grounded and focused on teenage high times in the flatlands of Lincolnshire.

“Hometown’ is one of the most important songs I’ve written,” says Henry. “It’s about people I knew growing up that aren’t around anymore. I’m saying ‘I see you’ – it’s a nod to them. I’m grateful for life and I am not going to jeopardise it in any way.”

Along with today’s new lyric video, the band also recently announced a run of nine special UK outstore performances to celebrate the release of the new record. Coming to towns and cities across the UK in May, it will be a rare chance to see the band up close and personal.

Sea Girls, one of the most exciting guitar bands to have emerged in recent times, are the torchbearers for the next wave. Delivering sing-along anthems for the masses, the band’s journey is well and truly on its way.
