Rosey Chan has today announced details of her Mindful Piano Music playlist project, available now via London based artist services company Platoon. Rosey has also revealed a video for the project’s lead track Unity and shared five other new songs After The Affair, Solstice, Shanghai, Audrey and Autumn. Listen to the playlist here.
Speaking about her new music Rosey said:
‘Like most musicians, I’ve been recording and playing a lot of music during isolation. It’s been especially interesting to get feedback during the process of composing. I’ve been putting thirty second clips of new music on to Instagram and then reading the responses. It’s been intriguing to see the contrast between the different pieces that have had good responses. It’s not just one thing or one style – and you realise that a lot of people are listening to things in their own personal way’.
Rosey began the idea for Mindful Piano Music early on in her self-isolation experience. A personal compilation project, Mindful Piano Music was started initially for friends and family and the playlist is designed to audibly stimulate creativity, work and study, for people while in the confines of their own homes and studios.
Rosey’s creative output combines a wide range of practices from music and design to dance, fashion and architecture. A virtuoso musician who studied piano and composition at the Royal College of Music, her solo concerts incorporate cinematic visuals and cutting-edge audio technologies. Her music is an amalgamation of her own compositions, musical improvisations and selected classical repertoire, along with electronic and genre-bending sonic influences.
Rosey is today showcasing a body of work at the Dezeen Virtual Design Festival, where she will provide a special performance and masterclass in musical improvisation.
