2023 is shaping up to be the year that Rosellas take their local hero status across the country. They started the year in style by landing on Louder Than War and XS Manchester’s ones to watch lists, and they followed a pre-match performance at Manchester City v Arsenal by quickly selling out their biggest headline show to date at Manchester Academy 3.
‘Hideaway’ is a statement of intent for the year ahead as the Rosellas raise the bar in every way. Epic in scale and destined for the biggest stages, ‘Hideaway’ sees the band merging their soaring rock ‘n’ roll hooks and defiant attitude with their tightest musicianship to date, especially as the track’s final sprawling guitar solo evokes the style of the great John Squire. The song was written by the band and produced by Oliver Shillito.
Rosellas commented, “We’re excited to up the ante and share our next single ‘Hideaway’ with you all. You can expect hard-hitting, beat driven rock ‘n’ roll with an anthemic chorus, born to be sung by stadium-size crowds. After selling out our Manchester Academy show within a matter of a few weeks, we’re making sure that we debut ‘Hideaway’ across the UK on our tour finishing in Manchester to celebrate the new era of Rosellas. It’s immense.”
That headline tour begins in London tonight and is approaching sold-out status. Limited tickets remain available HERE. The band’s upcoming festival dates are also taking shape with Stockton Calling, The Great Escape and This Feeling By The Sea so far confirmed.
Frontman Drew Selby and rhythm guitarist Euan Mail met on a late night train back from a Blossoms gig and their immediate connection lead to them forming a band with Drew’s friends Luis Sullivan (keys, backing vocals) and Ollie Appleby (bass), while drummer Mark Zanker completed the line-up after knowing Luis through the The Royal Northern College of Music. Sharing influences including Shack, The Smiths, Oasis and Stone Roses, Rosellas’ own independent releases established a reputation as next wave contenders before signing with This Feeling Records last year.
