Rosa releases her stunning new single, Not Really A Friend, out now. You can listen to Not Really A Friend HERE.
An intimate track about being strong for yourself and self-worth after you’re let down by a friend or relationship, Rosa says “Not Really A Friend describes the painful feeling of being let down or hurt by a close friend. Whether you feel they’ve broken your trust, excluded you, they are drifting away or you’re always a last priority, it’s difficult to let go and move on from someone who was once such a significant part of your life. Whilst mourning someone who once felt like a safe and secure place to be, the song also embodies a new sense of self-worth and learning that you deserve better. You no longer put up with making excuses for someone, but finally put yourself first. “
Listing Sasha Alex Sloan, Gracie Abrams and Lana Del Rey as the artists she looks up to the most, Hampshire native Rosa wrote Not Really A Friend, alongside co-writer and producer Ben Matravers (Easy Life, Josie Proto), and highlights Rosa’s delicate, ethereal vocals. Not Really A Friend follows on from the singer-songwriter’s debut track, Unravel Me and her March release, Tunnels, which was included in Spotify’s Life Sucks playlist (3.3 million followers) and gained 34,000 streams on Spotify in just over a month.
