Dynamic girlband Remember Monday release their anthemic new single ‘What The Hell Just Happened?’, confirmed as the United Kingdom’s entry for this year’s 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland in May. Listen to ‘What The Hell Just Happened’ HERE.
‘What The Hell Just Happened?’ showcases the band at their best, highlighting their bubbly character, joyful harmonies and melodies. It’s a pop track brimming with fun and infectious energy, a dancefloor-filler that relatably narrates a raucous night out with friends. The video directed by Rupert Bryan perfectly echoes this sense of whimsy and drama.
Made up of best friends Charlotte, Holly and Lauren, Remember Monday are seasoned performers. Since first meeting in sixth form, they have gone from strength to strength, regularly appearing on the music festival circuit, and last year the band embarked on their first sellout UK wide tour. The multi-talented group are also no strangers to the West End with the girls between them having starred in productions of’Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera (Holly), Mary Poppins’ (Charlotte), and ‘Matilda’ (Lauren), who also had a lead role in the nationwide tour of ‘SIX The Musical’.
Speaking on the song the girls say “‘What The Hell Just Happened?’ is exactly how we’re feeling right now! It’s all very surreal; our friendship goes so far back, and we definitely never imagined that we’d be doing anything like this. When you’re a kid and people ask you what you want to be when you grow up, an absolute classic is “I wanna be a pop star”, so the fact that we’re getting the chance to live that dream as three best friends is just wild. We’re going to be the first girlband to represent the UK since 1999, which feels like such a crazy honour.“
