One of Finland’s biggest ever musical experts with tens of millions of Spotify plays, countless awards to their name, The Rasmus return to the UK in October 2019 as part of a huge European tour.
The band formed in Helsinki in the early 90’s when still at school and having massive success in their native Finland, their reputation started spreading worldwide with the release of their 4th studio album Into. Their huge international breakthrough however happened with the next album Dead Letters in 2003 which sold 2 million copies worldwide and lead single ‘In The Shadows’ was a massive chart and radio hit the following year and received 6 gold and 2 platinum awards. The band have continued to tour and record and these shows celebrate the anniversary of Dead Letters and they will be playing the album in full.
“Dead Letters is the most important album in the history of The Rasmus,” says vocalist Lauri Ylönen. “At the time of the release in 2003 we had already existed almost ten years and were on the threshold of adulthood as a band. With self-confidence and curiosity, the fear of the future defined our new style and identity for good. We want to celebrate the 15th anniversary of this album by diving back into that dark world and playing it live from start to finish.”
“We are super excited about this. The album is very theatrical and has strong imagery. We want to bring that visual world to the live performances. Some of the songs will have their first live premier in the fall of 2019!”
