John Lydon’s Public Image Ltd (PiL) are delighted to announce their first UK tour in four years, kicking off in Manchester at the O2 Academy on 6th June 2022. The band last toured to sell-out audiences in 2018 celebrating PiL’s 40th anniversary, and the release of THE PUBLIC IMAGE IS ROTTEN box set and acclaimed documentary of the same name. More recently, John also completed a very successful spoken-word tour of the UK.

The forthcoming 13-date headline tour includes dates in Ireland and Northern Ireland, at the National Stadium in Dublin (9th June) and, for the first time ever, in Belfast at the Limelight (10th June). In addition, the band will be appearing at the Sinners Day Special Festival in Ostend, Belgium on the 25th of June. PiL will be performing songs from across their 10 studio album catalogue, and the shows will include some surprises thrown in for good measure. John says, ‘May all the roads rise with you!’

PiL are acknowledged by critics and peers alike as one of the most influential bands of all time.  With a shifting line-up and unique experimental sound, John Lydon led the band from their debut album FIRST ISSUE in 1978 through to 1992’s THAT WHAT IS NOT. After a 17 year hiatus, he reactivated PiL in 2009, releasing two further highly praised studio albums (THIS IS PIL and WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW…) and deluxe editions of classic albums, while continuing to perform live around the world.

John Lydon, Bruce Smith, Lu Edmonds, and Scott Firth is the longest running line-up in the band’s history.
