Following on from extensive dates supporting Waterparks on tour, (including a date at London’s Brixton Academy), phem has returned with their dynamic new single ‘brkdwn’ via their new label Hopeless Records. Stream here and watch the video here.
‘brkdwn’ sees phem continue in their infectious genre defying prowess, a punchy fusion of hyperpop, emo and trap that comes ahead of their appearance at Reading & Leeds festivals this August bank holiday weekend (26th – 28th August).
“There’s no denying that each and every one of us has struggled emotionally, mentally, physically or had some hardship within the last two years or so. I wanted to create an anthem that could allow us to celebrate our pain together, and flip it into something positive.” – phem on ‘brkdwn’
The new single is also phem’s first as a new signing to the legendary Hopeless Records, joining a stellar roster of iconic artists in the alternative and pop punk sphere such as New Found Glory, Neck Deep, Sum 41, NOAHFINNCE and Tonight Alive.
To date, phem has racked up an impressive set of collaborations with a slew of artists, including Machine Gun Kelly, iann dior and Steve Aoki, plus tours with artists like Machine Gun Kelly, Waterparks and Grandson.
Across the Atlantic they’ve garnered fans at radio with the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders and Kerrang Radio, as well as tastemakers NME, DIY, Upset, Dork, Daily Star, Kerrang, Rock Sound, tmrw, 1883 and Independent.
