PAUL EPWORTH today releases the brand new track ‘Love Galaxy feat. Jay Electronica & Lil Silva’, taken from his upcoming debut solo album ‘VOYAGER’ due late summer via Columbia Records – http://smarturl.it/LoveGalaxy
‘Love Galaxy’ carries on the space aged sound of last year’s album title track ‘Voyager’ but pulls into orbit the talents of legendary hip hop artist Jay Electronica and UK producer and songwriter Lil Silva, as well as backing vocals from Glass Animals’ Dave Bayley, to create a cosmic pop record that toys with hip hop leanings and hints more at what’s to come from Epworth’s debut album.
On the track, Paul Epworth says;
“I was looking for something in the album that felt super familiar, a nostalgic record that feels like coming home. I knew I wanted it to sound like I’d sampled an early Jan Hammer record, something like Brian Bennett or Steve Miller Band’s cosmic funk, but chopped and screwed through a Dr Dre filter when he’s referenced records from a similar era.”
The accompanying animated film, made by animator and creator Kidmograph, goes deep into Paul’s sci-fi psyche, pulling apart some of the ideas that moulded the project and re-visualising the inspiration that influenced the recording process.
‘Love Galaxy’ is released as an exciting snippet of what’s to come from the multi Grammy and Academy Award winning music producer and songwriter, who’s worked with some of the most influential and exciting artists of our generation. More tracks are to be released from the ‘Voyager’ project throughout summer.
