Following the release of his recent acclaimed EP JOYRIDE via RCA Records earlier this year, East London R&B artist JVCK JAMES has shared a brand-new live video for one of the EP’s lead tracks with No Drama (Live Performance). It follows his recent live performance video of Basement and accompanying remix featuring Knucks.
No Drama is a song which merges JVCK’s fresh and experimental sound with his appreciation of 90s R&B to create a harmonious track full of rhythm and emotion. The live performance video filmed at Holborn Studios sees him bathed in a hazy glow and brings the track to life through a passionate and stylistic performance translating exactly what a unique and impressive talent JVCK JAMES really is.
He says; “I’m excited to continue the “Joyride Live” experience. It was only right that I gave you “No Drama” the lead single off of my EP. From the studio to the stage, the music elevates.”
His JOYRIDE EP, which features No Drama alongside 5 other tracks, including the smooth and atmospheric title track Joyride and the relaxed Basement, was also accompanied by a long-form film, which sound tracked the entire EP and was shot and directed by UK director Fenn O’Meally (Jorja Smith, Wu-Tang, Stormzy).
With the rise of UK R&B talent over the last couple of years, JVCK JAMES is a pioneering name very much at the forefront, with support so far coming from the likes of BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, Radio 6 and Capital Xtra, as well as appearing as part of COLOR’s Home/Bred session series last summer. The end of last year also saw JVCK perform as part of the BET Soul Train Awards ‘UK Soul Cypher’alongside Hamzaa, Sinead Harnett and Shae Universe, which followed his first ever live TV performance at the 2019 BET Soul Train Awards in Las Vegas, appearing as the only UK artist to perform at the official pre-show event (watch here).
After supporting the likes of Mahalia and Ella Mai in both America and Europe just before live touring came to a halt and headlining a sold out Omeara in London for his last headline show, JVCK will be announcing further live dates soon.
