Made up of mandolinist Chris Thile, violinist Sara Watkins and guitarist Sean Watkins, Nickel Creek have been playing together since they were children and became a word-of-mouth sensation on the progressive bluegrass scene. Signing to acclaimed roots label Sugar Hill Recordings and finding their appeal spreading beyond the genre’s core audience, they went on to produce self-titled 2000 debut, and the 2002 follow-up This Side, which garnered a Best Contemporary Folk Album Grammy.
The band garnered further acclaim with their fifth studio Why Should the Fire Die? in 2005 and 2014’s followup, A Dotted Line, which culminated with the band celebrating their 25th Anniversary. The band will release Live From The Fox Theatre on 18th November on all streaming services marking their signing to Thirty Tigers. Previously only available on vinyl and digital download, you can listen to the first taste of the record, ‘When You Come Back Down’ HERE, as they prepare to return to the stage in the UK for three unmissable shows in early 2023.
