MEDUZA – ANOTHER WORLD

Italian electronic trio MEDUZA announce the release of new single ‘Another World’ with heralded artist HAYLA via The Cross Records/ Island Records UK – listen here.

This powerhouse collaboration between MEDUZA, and ascendant, fellow GRAMMY nominated, songwriter and vocalist HAYLA promises to be an existential culmination of electronic and vocal sound. ‘Another World’ is seen as a homage to the ethereal but also visceral emotions that music can draw out.

The initial phase of the vocal drifts and harmonises with the beat cutting through, driving the pace of the record before HAYLA’s powerful voice calls out to the listener. The plucky synths call back to the euphoria of records forged in the seminal years of dance music, alongside the atmospheric sonic trademark of MEDUZA, the ‘bell sound’, heightening the senses before HAYLA’s cinematic vocals and the beat drive as one to ensnare all senses to connect to ‘Another World’.

The Italian trio have enjoyed collaborations with the absolute spearhead of vocal artists in British dance music including Poppy Baskcomb, Becky Hill and Clementine Douglas culminating in over a billion streams across the respective records. ‘Another World’ seeks to grow upon these numbers in spades with increasingly emergent HAYLA providing the grandiosity required to elevate the signature MEDUZA atmospheric soundscape, with her undeniable talents as a songwriter and vocalist that have propelled her to global recognition and hundreds of millions of streams to her name for her own productions and collaborations with the likes of Sub Focus, Kygo, John Summit and Kx5 just to name a few.

GIA FORD – TRANSPARENT THINGS

Alternative pop visionary Gia Ford has released her highly-anticipated debut album Transparent Things via Chrysalis Records. Listen here. The album features the recent singles “Try Changing”, ”Poolside”, “Paint Me Like a Woman” and the album track “Housewife Dreams of America”.

Transparent Things is an immersive collection that showcases how Gia is able to craft songs like no other artist of her generation. For Gia, those figures on the fringes of society are by far the most fascinating. Her songs tell the stories of the downtrodden to the downright dangerous. And through them, we begin to hear familiar, uncomfortable truths about ourselves.

The theme of alienation runs through the album. “Most of the characters in these songs are outcasts, all with unique ways of feeling on the periphery, somehow,” Gia says. While each song operates in its own realm, their subject matters create a throughline of eccentricity that turns Transparent Things into an odyssey of outcasts. “Thematically it has a mythical quality, stemming from the repeated references to creatures, ghosts and undefined spirits. It’s a world of its own, where the characters have more in common than I initially thought was possible.”

SWITCH DISCO – I FOUND YOU

Switch Disco have just announced new music with their brand-new single, “I Found You,” featuring vocalist Charlotte Haining and DJ/producer Felix, released via Relentless Records. Listen here.

In a lightbulb moment, BRIT nominated, million selling Switch Disco sampled Felix’s iconic 1992 dance anthem and pan-European Top 5 hit, ‘Don’t You Want Me’ (now exclusively cleared with Felix part of the release). Charlotte Haining was called on to top-line, delivering the feature vocal. Switch also enlisted close collaborator Franklin and Punctual (half of the production magic behind their BRIT hit ‘REACT’) to co-produce.

Teasing the track for a month, the new single combines every element you’d expect of a club anthem, with deep basslines, bright synth-riffs, and effortless vocals creating a shimmering dancefloor banger. The collaboration between Charlotte Haining and Felix perfectly captures the melodies and hooks that will command attention throughout.

MARY MIDDLEFIELD – LAST LETTER

Swiss folk-pop artist Mary Middlefield has today released the official new music video for her ‘Last Letter Acoustic Version).

Speaking on the track, Mary said: “This is a little nod to my previous record. Originally, Last Letter was written and recorded as an acoustic ballad and we scrapped it. We found it again months later and really thought it deserved to be out in the world.”

Last Letter (Acoustic Version) is taken from Mary’s debut EP ‘Poetry (For The Scorned and Lonely)’. The eight track project includes singles ‘Sexless’, ‘Atlantis’, ‘Heart’s Desire’ and ‘Young and Dumb’.

‘Poetry (For The Scorned and Lonely) is a purging of emotion, one that’s allowing Mary Middlefield to move forward with a clear mind and a clean palette. But for now, this is music for the people who are stuck, scorned and lonely. Mary invites you to suffer and yearn and scream alongside her. A lush eight tracks, the EP features previous singles ‘Sexless’, ‘Atlantis’, ‘Heart’s Desire’ and ‘Young and Dumb’, alongside the beautifully delicate ‘Last Letter (Acoustic)’, the interlude of ‘Allodynia’, achingly enchanting ‘Love Me Love Me Not’ and dreamy title track ‘Poetry’.

In Lausanne, Switzerland, wildflower-trails blaze with ultraviolet colour, mountains of myth surround a lake of sapphire. It’s a beauty so intense that it pacifies itself, turns still, and silent. Musician Mary Middlefield – who, for all her life, has called Lausanne home—splits the landscape apart, turning it into a wild scream. Her music is like a howl in the beautiful wilderness.
