OWEN RIVERA- I FALL IN LOVE WITH CHRISTMAS
OWEN’S a gifted guitarist who fills every note that he plays with feeling. However, he’s also a musician who loves to celebrate the Christmas spirit. He follows last year’s take on the timeless ‘Feliz Navidad’ by releasing brand new music for this festive season, ‘I Fall In Love With Christmas’. Listen HERE.
‘I Fall In Love With Christmas’ is a seasonal song so instantly memorable that it feels as if you’ve known it for years. With nostalgic lyrics, swooning vocal harmonies, the sweetest of melodies and one of the coolest guitar solos imaginable, it could well have been transported directly from the ‘60s. OWEN hopes it can become a new favourite for many Christmases to come.
Owen says, “Christmas was always a time of pure excitement and joy for me when I was a kid growing up. When you’re young you feel so full of love and wonder and the holidays just take those feelings to another level. But as you get older I think a lot of us start to lose those feelings and life gets heavier. Christmas and the holiday season gives me a chance to feel like that kid I was years ago if even for a moment. It’s why I fall in love with Christmas every year and I hope you do too. Feliz Navidad.”
LUCINDA WILLIAMS – SOMETHING
Revered singer/songwriter Lucinda Williams has just released a sensational cover of The Beatles’ “Something”. Williams’ captivating rendition of the George Harrison classic appears on the forthcoming album Lucinda Williams Sings The Beatles From Abbey Road, which comes out on December 6th. “Something” was filmed during the recording at the legendary studio.
As an acclaimed, award-winning singer/songwriter for more than four decades, Williams is a pioneering artist whose music has been highly influential and covered by a multitude of others. Williams is also an extraordinary interpreter who, like all great interpreters, has the ability to inhabit a song and make it her own. She does just that throughout this selection of Beatles tracks, as she has done on each Lu’s Jukebox volume.

DOPAMINE – ANGELA
Gaining notoriety as Australia’s most exciting new band – Dopamine – release their latest single “Angela”. LISTEN HERE
“Angela” is pure blissful romanticism, evoking the feelings of teenage hangouts and fleeting romances. It is the first single taken from the band’s forthcoming EP.
Last year, Dopamine captured the attention of the music industry with their single “Don’t Mind Anyway”. Having received significant support from triple J – the group now return to solidify their reputation as Australia’s best new buzz band.
Of the new single, Dopamine say: “It’s about coming back to a place that has a lot of memories for you. I don’t think “Angela” represents a person but more a place. A place that encapsulated your life at a certain point but now is just a memory.”
“We’ve just finished building our own studio and this was the first track that we recorded and mixed there. We were working on an old song of ours and it just wasn’t coming together. We were trying to get excited about it, but we were just sick of listening to it. We were probably a bit drunk and overconfident and had the idea to just write and record a new song that night and this is the song that came out of it. All the songs were recorded in our studio that night, it sounds amazing!”
