New Music Friday and 10 great releases that are out today.
1. Kylie – ‘Kiss of Life’ feat Jessie Ware
Kylie releases her brand-new single ‘Kiss of Life’ with pop sensation Jessie Ware, via BMG. Listen to the brilliant new single here.
‘Kiss of Life’ is made for the dance floor – bursting with disco-fever beats and melodies. It was written by Kylie and Jessie Ware, alongside James Ford, Danny Parker and Shungudzo, who collaborated with Jessie on her hugely successful album ‘What’s Your Pleasure?’, released last summer.
Kiss of Life follows the track ‘A Second to Midnight’ with Years & Years, which was released earlier this month to widespread praise – deemed ‘dazzling’ by NME and a ‘delightful disco fever dream’ by Rolling Stone. Both singles will be featured on the forthcoming ‘DISCO: Guest List Edition’, which also features a new track titled ‘Can’t Stop Writing Songs About You’, recorded with disco legend Gloria Gaynor. The new version of ‘DISCO’ also features an array of incredible remixes from the original album and ‘Real Groove (Studio 2054 Remix)’ – last year’s hit collaboration with Dua Lipa.
2. Sammy Porter – ‘Celebrate’ feat Karen Harding
Sammy Porter’s singles such as ‘Talking Like Friends’ and ‘Let Your Love’ have taken him to over 50 million career streams, 5 million video views and 2500 plays on UK radio. Now he teams up with Karen Harding for his new single ‘Celebrate’. Listen HERE.
Boasting punchy piano house keys, a dynamite drop and the not-so-secret weapon that is Karen’s Harding’s soaring soulful vocal gift, ‘Celebrate’ has everything it takes to become a crossover dance anthem. Not only does it look set to become Sammy’s biggest track to date, but it sees Karen Harding adding to an epic year in which she has featured on major tracks from Galantis, Shift K3y, Hook N Sling and Felix Cartal.
Sammy produced ‘Celebrate’, which he co-wrote with Rob Harvey, Charlotte Haining and Lewis Thompson. Frontman of The Music, Rob Harvey has also co-written two of Joel Corry’s smash hits, ‘Head & Heart’ (featuring MNEK) and ‘Lonely’.
Sammy says, “Never been so excited for a record to see the light of day. Being able collab with Karen Harding on a record is literally unreal and I’m so excited for it to come out sounding the way it does after keeping this under wraps for so long.”
Karen adds, “We wrote ‘Celebrate’ up in Leeds and the chorus was inspired by a packet of Celebrations in Rob Harvey’s kitchen. We all got our best moves out and danced around! It was such a happy, feelgood vibe.”

KiD RAiN says, “My favourite film is The Prestige, a film about two magicians in 19th century (Christopher Nolan at his best go watch it if you haven’t) so I knew I wanted the magic video to look similar to that, and when I found an old 19th century theatre IN YORKSHIRE I couldn’t believe it!! “I wrote this song about how I liked a girl who had a boyfriend. She would confide in me about how shitty he was and say and do things that would kind of lead me on but then tell me she didn’t ‘mean it like that’…so I was like fuck it, I’m gonna write about it,” said Maggie of the song. About the video, she said: “I wrote up the concept kind of right when we made the song. I instantly had a vision for it and wanted to give it a high school 2000’s feel but also keep it current and industrial and surreal spin from a normal classroom setting. I wanted to tap into my high school fantasy — haha.”
