This week’s New Music Friday is packed with incredible releases. From the experimental sounds of DRONSKY to the soulful melodies of Killerstar, there’s something for every music lover.

KILLERSTAR – KILLERSTAR REIMAGINED

After their self-titled debut album emerged to a flood of critical acclaim, with many hailing its stellar merger of art rock invention and timeless classic rock musicianship, KillerStar now go further into the project with today’s release the new music ‘KillerStar Reimagined’ reworks album. Listen HERE.

The original ‘KillerStar’ album was boosted by the irresistible presence of an array of David Bowie’s most trusted collaborators: Mike Garson on piano, Earl Slick and Mark Plati on guitar, Gail Ann Dorsey and Tim Lefebvre on bass,Emm Gryner on backing vocals, and Donny McCaslin on saxophone. This new set features an array of new versions, primarily produced by Mark Plati, plus a remix of ‘Should’ve Known Better’ by The Anchoress, the acclaimed solo artist who is also a regular collaborator with Manic Street Preachers.

The new alternative acoustic version of ‘Falling Through’ showcases the album’s powers of reinvention. Originally the album’s powerful finale, this new take strips back the song’s thunderous edge to reveal a dreamy, ethereal quality which pushes Donny McCaslin’s saxophone to the fore and exposes the song’s inner melancholy. It is accompanied by a video which was filmed and directed by Laura Lynn Petrick (Mac DeMarco, Weyes Blood).

In addition to the digital release of ‘KillerStar Reimagined’, a limited edition vinyl pressing is also available HERE.

DONSKOY – BANG

The polymath creative force DONSKOY today enhances his nascent music career as he shares his brand new music single ‘BANG’. The track comes as DONSKOY is in the midst of a run of high profile media moments, with an appearance on Germany’s leading morning show ’ earlier today, a guest slot on the nation’s biggest game show ‘BEAT THE STAR” ’ tomorrow, and an iconic cover feature with Esquire which drops later this month.

With ‘BANG’, DONSKOY delivers the antidote to the autumn blues, with a full-throttle electro-pop banger which takes inspiration from the pulsating London club scene with a touch of UK rap flavour. ‘BANG’ shows that DONSKOY is always challenging himself and experimenting, pushing the boundaries of genre in unexpected directions. Its thumping intensity conveys a clear message: a fiery determination to take hedonism to the max. Listen HERE.

DONSKOY says, “BANG is a ode of love to my two home towns Berlin and London and a joyous way of remembering that sometimes you gotta go head first though the wall. Musically I tried to capture the essence of Londons grittiness and pace with the darker tones of Berlins Electronic scene. I feel like this song truly captures a lot of my persona and I truly hope it will make people dance and have a good time.

VINCE FREEMAN – SCARS, GHOSTS AND GLORY

Wherever you currently are on the road of love’s tumultuous highs and lows, ‘Something We Used To Say’ offers relatable and escapist songs that will soothe your sorrows or elevate your bliss.
