British singer-songwriter and guitarist Maya Delilah has announced a series of intimate in-store performances and signing to celebrate the release of her debut album, The Long Way Round, set to arrive on March 28th via Decca, Blue Note/Capitol. The tour will take Maya across the UK, with stops in Leeds, Bristol, Brighton, London, Kingston and Oxford. Tickets include a pre-order of the album, available in CD, vinyl, or digital format. Alongside the announcement, Maya Delilah has shared a live session of her newly released single, ‘Squeeze’. Filmed at the iconic Middle Farm Studios in Devon, the video perfectly captures the track’s soulful energy. A flirty, fun ride featuring bold horns, upside-down keys, and an electrifying solo from Maya, the song was first spun by Maia Beth on BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop during release week and has since been selected as BBC Radio 1’s Future Artists ‘Next Wave’. The track has also garnered support from The Independent, Dork, Far Out, and Spindle, and Maya was invited to perform it live on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch.

Maya’s debut album brings all the elements of her art together — the intimacy, the ability, the inspiration, the depth, the lightness — into one striking work. While the 12 songs on The Long Way Round are steeped in soul-pop, they also contain rich strains of country and blues, hints of gospel and choral music, and one full serving of unvarnished funk new single ‘Squeeze’.

“This album is a combination of so many parts of me,” says Maya. “I get so influenced by different genres, people, places, and experiences that it’s always felt hard for me to fit my music into a consistent sound or mood. It took me a long time (hence The Long Way Round) to realize that it’s a beautiful thing to have a body of work that explores so many different influences.”
