Lucy Dacus has announced a run of 2022 UK & European headline shows. The UK leg will commence March 18 at Leeds Brudnell Social Club and culminate March 25 at London’s Kentish Town Forum, before continuing to further European dates. Tickets for UK shows will go on pre-sale on Wednesday, 16 June, at 10am BST for album pre-order customers via the Matador webstore HERE, and all tour tickets will go on general sale Friday, 18 June, at 10am BST.
In addition to these dates, Dacus previously announced several North American dates supporting Bright Eyes in July, followed by an extensive run of headline shows, with several of the dates already sold out. Tickets are available HERE.
Lucy Dacus’ hotly-tipped third album Home Video will be released June 25 on Matador. The full-length has been previewed with acclaimed singles ‘Hot & Heavy’, which is currently playlisted on BBC 6 Music and was performed on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, ‘Thumbs, ‘VBS’, and most recently, ‘Brando’.
Home Video is Dacus’ “most personal album to date, recounting her coming of age, in Richmond, Virginia. She sings about lost friendships, queer love affairs, curfews, and other adolescent pursuits” (New Yorker). It displays her ability to use the personal as portal into the universal as the songs capture that specific moment in time growing up where emotions and relationships start becoming more complex — the joys, the excitement, the confusion, and even the heartbreak of going through the process of discovering who you are and where people fit in your life and where you fit in theirs. Dacus’ voice, both audible and on the page, has a healer’s power to soothe and ground and reckon.
