Lilly Ahlberg has revealed her new single Moonlight. The track, which is the follow up to January’s Body To Body is the first to be taken from her upcoming debut EP, set for release next year.
Moonlight was produced by HUMN (Lost Kings, Liv Dawson, Lyra, Mabes, Julia Church), and written by Lilly with Matthew Newman and Caitlin Stubbs. Speaking about the track Lilly explains:
‘Moonlight is an intimate and personal song with spiritual undertones. It’s a song about the feeling of not really finding oneself, and how the search for an identity can pull one in all directions, just as the tide moves after the moon’s dance through the celestial arch.’
Lilly is currently featured on DJ Sonny Fodera’s track The Moment, which has more than 9,000,000 accumulated streams on Spotify to date. She has roots in Älmhult, Helsingborg, Norway, Australia and London, where she currently lives. Her musical journey began at the age of 14 when Lilly’s brother taught her to play guitar and she quickly learned to make her own covers that she posted on YouTube and in 2016 was accepted into the Major Tom project in Helsingborg – an incubator for local musical talents. Lilly released her debut track Love is Like that year and the song was subsequently used in Coop’s Christmas campaign in Switzerland.
Lilly’s new single Moonlight is out now via Kobalt.
