Rising genre-fusing artist Laurel Smith has shared her new single ‘LIKE THAT’ today, stream here and watch here.
Produced by Jay Flew, mixed by Manon Grandjean (Flo, AJ Tracey, Cat Burns) and mastered by Matt Colton (FKA Twigs, Blood Orange and Aphex Twin), ‘LIKE THAT’ is another testament to Laurel’s endless and effortless creative approach to music and genre. A kinetic blend of stuttering electronics, grooving hip-hop beats and glistening hyperpop synths, the outcome is euphoric when partnered with Laurel’s tender vocal and honest lyrics.
LIKE THAT is about the experience of having a friend that struggles with their mental health. It’s a sad but heartfelt love song, showing how depression not only hurts the person dealing with it, but also the people who are the closest to them – Laurel Smith
