“This track makes me want to dance every time I hear it,” says celebrated retrowave artist LAU (aka Laura Fares) about her infectious new single “Physical Attraction” which is available now. “It was such a fun song to make. I hope it makes people want to move their body!” Listen Here
“Physical Attraction” is the fourth released single and is about that irresistible feeling when you instantly feel chemistry with someone you’ve just met. The fast heartbeat, the need to seize the moment, and simply give it a go to see where it may lead,” LAU explains. “Catchy, groovy, smooth.”
The new track follows on the heels of previous singles: “The Storm”, “Laser Eyes”, and “Drifting Away”.
Tackling the ups and downs of love, attraction, heartache and friendship, Digital Dream covers a wide swath of emotional ground. “The album title Digital Dream is an outlook on the hectic life we live in nowadays, led by social media,” LAU explains. “With that constant need to create content and be glued to our phones (especially for artists), the struggle to be seen, and social media takes away from our time to create music. It’s something we all have to do in this day and age as independent artists.”
Digital Dream follows the worldwide success of her debut album Believer (2021), which introduced LAU as not only a formidable woman in music but also an important musician in the synthwave/retrowave scene. Her second album Circumstance (2022) reached #22 on the UK Apple Music Electronic Album chart. Her music has appeared on the Victoria’s Secret winter ad campaign and in publications such as Billboard, Rolling Stone, Mixmag, DJ Mag, Marie Claire, and many others. That same year, LAU was selected as a Keychange artist from an EU talent development program that promotes gender minorities in music. LAU has also been nominated for the Spanish Independent Music Awards in 2021 and 2022 (Best Artist and Best Album) and the BIME Equity Awards in 2022 (Best Song).
Digital Dream will be released on November 15, 2024 via Aztec Records.
