Rising Irish indie-folk band Kingfishr have today released ‘Live From Dublin’. The 11 track live album was recorded on the 21st of March this year, when the trio played the first of two sold out shows at the 3Olympia Theatre in Ireland. Speaking on the album release, Kingfishr said: “The 3Olympia Theatre was the venue we targeted from day one, it’s iconic in Ireland and for any Irish artist it’s the dream. Whether it took us 2 years or 20, we wanted to headline it and when that opportunity arose in little over a year it was hard to believe. Those gigs were so important to us and we needed something to remember them, something we could look at and be proud of how far we had come. The idea to record them for a live album came from that sentiment, it’s a landmark moment in this journey we’re on and we’re really excited to be able to share that with everyone.”
The Prologue Tour saw the trio play eight sold out headline shows across the UK and Ireland earlier this year. The run of dates concluded with the two shows at the 3Olympia Theatre in Ireland, that sold out on pre-sale alone. The 11 tracks on the album include: Heart In The Water, Headlands, Shadow, Leave, Afterglow, Shot In The Dark, Vancouver, Eyes Don’t Lie, Anyway, Flowers-Fire and Caroline.
The band are currently playing a summer festival season across Europe that includes Glastonbury, TRNMST, Isle Of Wight, Reading and Leeds, All Together Now, Sea Sessions, Down The Rabbit Hole and Rock Werchter. Later in the year they will play another massive UK and Ireland headline tour. The tour will see them play seventeen venues including London’s Shepherd’s Bush, making it their biggest run of headline shows to date. Starting in Ireland, the UK tour consists of shows in Bristol, Manchester, London, Liverpool, Sheffield, Newcastle, Glasgow, Leeds and Birmingham. Tickets here.
