In March 2024, KillerStar celebrated the release of their critically acclaimed self-titled album by playing their debut show at a sold-out 100 Club. As the band prepare to make a triumphant return to the venue with two headline shows on March 7th and8th, KillerStar now announce the release of the ‘Live At The 100 Club’ album on March 7th.
The album sees KillerStar infuse the art-rock songwriting of the studio set with a punchy new energy and the accomplishment that comes with such an outstanding team of musicians. It features six songs from their debut album, plus Mike Garson’s piano solo and the new song/jam ‘Drift’.
The line-up on the night was led by core KillerStar duo Rob Fleming (vocals/guitar) and James Sedge (drums) alongside renowned David Bowie collaborators Mike Garson, Mark Plati (bass), Kevin Armstrong (guitar) and Emm Gryner (backing vocals). They were joined by Dom Beken (synths, also of Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets) and Ulrika Bergelind (backing vocals, James Bay) along with Simon Bates on Sax.
Rob Fleming says, “On March 16th 2024 we played our (sold out) KillerStar album launch at The 100 Club, London. We could feel the excitement from the audience, the atmosphere was electric. Thanks to all who came and helped make it such a special night.”
The album was mixed by Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers) and was mastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. It is now available to pre-order HERE and formats include vinyl, CD and all digital platforms.
KillerStar followed their debut album with the reworks album ‘KillerStar Reimagined’, which included a ‘Should’ve Known Better’ remix from The Anchoress. Rob Fleming recently shared the story behind the band with an interview on the XS Noize podcast.
KillerStar’s upcoming shows at The 100 Club feature the majority of the line-up from the new live album, and additionally a special guest – guitarist Earl Slick, who plays on the KillerStar studio album and famously performed on many albums and shows with his own band and others including David Bowie, John Lennon and more. Limited remaining tickets for the shows are available HERE, and fans who attend both shows will receive a free t-shirt.
