The Human League and Alison Moyet have been added to London’s iconic outdoor concert series KEW THE MUSIC for headline shows in 2025. Tickets available at: kewthemusic.org
They join previously announced artists including UB40 Featuring Ali Campbell, DJ Spoony Presents Garage Classical and Gipsy Kings featuring Nicolas Reyes.
This week-long festival of picnic concerts takes place in the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage site, Kew Gardens, in southwest London, and has become a staple of the capital’s summer music scene. Recognised as one of the UK’s most stunning summer concert venues, the event attracts music lovers of all ages.
Uniquely for an outdoor festival, attendees are welcome to bring their own food and drinks or enjoy the open-air bars and street food stalls.
WEDNESDAY 9 JULY – THE HUMAN LEAGUE
The Human League hail from Sheffield and became pioneers of 80s synth pop. Founding member Philip Oakey took the band on to huge commercial success after first recruiting two female vocalists, Joanne Catherall and Susan Ann Sulley.
This three person vocal sound created a unique band line up and all three members have remained in the group to this day. With hits including ‘Don’t You Want Me’, ‘Love Action (I Believe In Love)’, and ‘Together In Electric Dreams’, they became international superstars.
THURSDAY 10 JULY – UB40 FEATURING ALI CAMPBELL
UB40 Featuring Ali Campbell have sold over 70 million records worldwide, including over 50 hits in the UK Singles Charts alone, all propelled by one of the greatest voices in UK music, let alone Reggae, Ali Campbell.
With accolades including an Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement, alongside Grammy and BRIT Award nominations, as well as a recent induction into the Music Walk of Fame on Camden High Street; Ali has been recognised for his incredible mark on bringing Reggae music to the masses.
Special guest for the show will be Reggae legend Pato Banton.
FRIDAY 11 JULY – DJ SPOONY PRESENTS GARAGE CLASSICAL
One of the pioneers of UK garage, DJ Spoony, together with acclaimed composer and conductor Katie Chatburn and the renowned Ignition Orchestra, has transformed Garage Classical into a major force in the live orchestral world. Their performances have captivated audiences at some of the UK’s most iconic venues.
Their show at KEW THE MUSIC will include special guests Daniel Bedingfield, So Solid Crew, Heartless Crew, with more to be announced.
SATURDAY 12 JULY – ALISON MOYET
One of the most celebrated and distinctive voices the UK has ever produced, 2024 has seen Alison Moyet marking her 40th anniversary as a solo artist with the release of her latest Top 10 album ‘Key’. With her upcoming 2025 UK tour selling out within days, Alison is delighted to be performing at Kew in the Summer. Strongly focused on the new album, her headline set will feature reworked material including fan favourites such as ‘All Cried Out’ and ‘Love Resurrection,’ assorted deep cuts, new material, and some Yazoo highlights.
Alison Moyet started off as a punk, became one half of the iconic synth-pop duo, Yazoo, and released her groundbreaking #1 debut solo album, Alf – all by the age of 23. She has released ten solo studio albums, won three BRIT Awards, been nominated for a Grammy, recently graduated from university with a first-class degree in Fine Art Printmaking and her new podcast, 40 Moyet Moments, topped UK and International music podcast charts.
SUNDAY 13 JULY – GIPSY KINGS FEATURING NICOLAS REYES
Gipsy King’s mix of Catalan rumba, flamenco, and salsa has fused with popular culture, with the band having played some of the world’s greatest stages, from the Hollywood Bowl to Royal Albert Hall.
Their self-titled debut album—a record that became a genuine phenomenon, certified gold and platinum around the globe, introducing millions of listeners to a unique, irresistible blend of traditional flamenco styles with Western pop and Latin rhythms. Since then, the band has toured virtually non-stop, to the farthest-flung corners of the planet, and sold almost twenty million albums, all the while retaining the same line-up of virtuoso musicians.
