JLS take a trip down memory lane with today’s release of ‘J15’ – a new deluxe edition that celebrates the 15th anniversary of their smash hit debut album. Listen HERE.

2009 was a memorable time for the British music scene. Susan Boyle became an unexpected worldwide sensation, Oasisplayed what everyone assumed would be their final ever gig, and Rage Against The Machine pipped ‘The X Factor’ winner Joe McElderry to the Christmas #1 spot. But the year’s biggest breakthrough was the fresh-faced boy band sensations JLS, who saw their first two singles – ‘Beat Again’ and ‘Everybody In Love’ – fly to #1, rapidly followed by their self-titled debut album. They subsequently won two BRIT Awards, as well as the first pair of a total of five MOBOs.

JLS now take us back to that heady time with ‘J15’. Like its creators, it’s a record that seemingly hasn’t aged at all – all irresistible hooks and pop-meets-R&B bounce, performed with youthful enthusiasm and the group’s supersmooth star vocal harmonies. Beyond the two #1 hits, it also includes another Top 10 hit in the shape of ‘One Shot’ as well as regular live show favourites ‘Close To You’ and ‘Only Tonight’.

Previewed by Paul Woolford’s invigorating ‘Beat Again 15’ remix, ‘J15’ adds another three new tracks to the original album. There are unplugged versions of ‘Crazy For You’ (check those tight-knit harmonies) and a chilled-out piano-and-beats rework of ‘Everybody In Love’, plus a ‘One Shot’ remix from Jess Bays.

Out now digitally, physical copies of ‘J15’ are available to buy HERE. It is available on white opaque double-vinyl (the album’s first ever vinyl format) and CD. Fans who buy the album from the band’s official store will also receive an exclusive signed insert.

Oritsé Williams, Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes and JB Gill ensured that JLS’s success continued long after their 4 x Platinum debut album. They landed another three #1 singles plus four more Top 10 hits, while their following three studio albums all peaked at #2 or #3. They signed off with 2013’s ‘Goodbye: The Greatest Hits’ but made a triumphant return in2021. Their tour that year saw them perform to over 350,000 fans, and they soared back into the Top 5 with the ‘2.0’ album. Between their 2021 and 2023 tours, JLS played a staggering 46 arena shows across the UK and Ireland.
