Today the wunderkind Jimothy Lacoste releases his long-awaited debut album The Safeway. A twinkling journey through the life and times of Jimothy Lacoste, The Safeway is a 17-track musical odyssey.
Entirely written and produced by Jimothy, The Safeway meets retro musicality with modern storytelling as the young artist muses on fashion, drugs, romance and life in the era of Gen Z. From the lo-fi, synth-laden opener ‘Getting Greygoose’ to the spectral, other-wordly atmospherics of ‘Getting Acid’ – The Safeway proves nothing is predictable in the world of Jimothy Lacoste.
‘Getting To Rob A Bank’ finds Jimothy flirting with criminality whilst the sombre ‘Getting Serious’ sees Jimothy contemplate the harder side of life. Hypnotic bop ‘Getting To Fly In The Sky’ makes way for the intimate 2-part offering ‘Getting Love’ and ‘Getting Love and Affection’, the two releases marking Jimothy’s most emotive output to date. Retro new single ‘Getting To The 70s’ sees Jimothy honour his favourite decade, while closer ‘Getting Young’ finds a decisive Jimothy – set on staying ‘young forever’.
