Rising pop sensation JERUB today releases his powerful new single Deeper. It marks the first release from JERUB’s upcoming new project, due to be released later this year. Listen here.
Born in Nigeria and raised in Nottingham, the rising star has tapped into something truly special. JERUB’s sonic approach blends the worlds of pop and soul in a way that creates a rousing response in listeners, driven by the anthemic power of his unique and increasingly recognisable vocal. True to form, JERUB delivers an emotion infused performance on Deeper, showcasing his lyrical sensibilities and incredible vocal range. In contrast to its stadium-filling sound, the song’s origins were somewhat serendipitous.
Whilst finishing up another track with award winning writer-producer Edd Holloway (Tom Grennan, Lewis Capaldi), who has produced the forthcoming mixtape, JERUB played a voice note from his phone – the initial idea for Deeper. Inspiration struck and the pair decided to record it immediately, laying down the track in just a few hours.
Speaking on the track JERUB says: “Deeper is a song about showing up for someone, not just when things are good, but when they’re at their lowest. It’s about loving without conditions—through the mess, the doubt, the days when they don’t even feel worthy of it. I wrote this because that’s the kind of love I believe in, the kind I try to give. But honestly, it’s also the kind of love I want to receive.”
He continues, “We all have moments when we feel like we’re too much, too broken, or too far gone. This song is a reminder that we’re not. That real love—whether from a friend, a partner, or anyone who truly sees us—doesn’t waver when things get heavy. It goes deeper”.
Testament to his talent, JERUB has achieved incredible milestones since signing to Elevate Music two years ago, amassing over 65 million streams, releasing two EPs, gaining major support from BBC Radio 1, Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal, and Amazon Music, as well as over 200 regional radio stations and captivating audiences with his sold out headline tours, as well as support slots across the UK and Europe for notable artists including, JP Cooper, Gavin James and more recently Victor Ray.
