Multi-award winner Jack Garratt makes his very welcomed return with the announcement of third album Pillars – out August 15th on Cooking Vinyl. Marking his first full-length project in five years, Pillars is vibrant, emotionally-charged and a celebration of love, community, and self-discovery.

The album’s journey begins with explosive first single ‘Catherine Wheel’ – out today. More than just a comeback single – the track is a statement of intent for Pillars and a sky-scraping anthem that encapsulates Jack’s blend of introspective lyricism and euphoric self-production.

Written during a transformative trip to Los Angeles, the track emerged from a period of self-doubt and creative rebirth. “I was fully ready to quit music,” Garratt admits. “But Catherine Wheel became my true north – it reignited my love for creating and set the tone for the entire album.” Listen to ‘Catherine Wheel’ here.

Pillars is a testament to Jack’s evolution as an artist and individual. Following the release of his 2020 album Love, Death & Dancing – which arrived during the pandemic’s isolating grip – Jack found himself yearning to reconnect with his fans and his craft. This album is his answer: a bold, unflinching exploration of love in all its forms – romantic, platonic, and self-love – woven into a tapestry of lush melodies, infectious beats, and heartfelt storytelling.

From the meditative synth-soul of ‘Shaftesbury Avenue’ to the funk-driven energy of ‘Ready! Steady! Go!’, Pillars showcases Garratt’s remarkable range as a songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Tracks like ‘Higher’, with its breakbeat urgency, and the radio-ready exuberance of ‘Two Left Feet’ highlight his ability to balance emotional depth with dancefloor-ready production. “This is the most authentic record I’ve made yet,” Garratt says. “I’ve gone through years of confusion and self-discovery to get here.”

To celebrate his return, Jack will perform a special underplay headline show at London’s Village Underground on May 1st. Pre-order the album here to gain access to tickets.
