Following a world exclusive first play from Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2 yesterday (25/2), singer-songwriter and multifaceted artist Olivia Lane has shared ‘I LET THE DEVIL IN,’ the first of a series of tracks leading up to the summer release of forthcoming new album HEART CHANGE.
Many fans already know Lane from her appearance on NBC’s “Songland,” as host of her Living Instead podcast, as the TikTok influencer with almost 2.5 Million post likes, by the songs that have earned her recognition as one of Nashville’s top new female artists, or from the highly lauded entrepreneurial spirit that led to the launch of her own publishing venture Liv Write Play Music.
There’s no denying the young artist’s impressive accomplishments, but her new album HEART CHANGE heralds the arrival of an Olivia Lane her fans have yet to experience.
“‘I LET THE DEVIL IN’ explores how easy it is to open the door to the thoughts that can sabotage even the strongest of us. It’s a cautionary tale,” she explains. “We all have those thoughts that live rent free in our minds and hearts. I hope this song shines a light on how we all can live a better life by choosing to not believe the lies we sometimes tell ourselves.”
Lane’s music is so relatable and universal because everyone has experienced challenges. “We all have work to do. None of us are perfect,” Lane says. “We’re all broken, so let’s just do the best we can. Looking toward the future, Lane is excited about once again touring as soon as it’s safe to do so. In the wake of the pandemic, she plans to hit the road both in the U.S. and will head to Europe again where she’s developed a strong following. She is also working to grow her publishing company and telling her story through other artistic mediums. Though she’s a savvy businesswoman, at her essence Lane is a singer/songwriter and she’s excited for her audience to experience the songs on her new album. “I hope it will be a safe place to land for people right now who are in need of some heart medicine and some acknowledgement to take that next step to become their authentic self,” she smiles.
