Hifi Sean and David McAlmont release their sophomore album Daylight mid Summer, Aug 16th 2024. It follows their acclaimed 2023 debut, Happy Ending. The exhilarating suite of twelve songs on Daylight celebrates, expresses and explores the colours of Summer. It will be the first of two albums from the duo in 2024 with the nocturnal sister album, Twilight, released mid Winter.
Daylight represents a significant moment in Hifi Sean and David McAlmont’s partnership. It was produced in a remarkable burst of collaborative energy, with both composers channeling and sharing. The writing, at times, seemed to guide the material with its own momentum.
HiFi Sean on ”Sun Come Up” “With David’s writing it feels like he is taking the listener musically through the different stages of a sunrise with shades of yellow , orange and red. I am chronically colourblind so this concept of a song being wrapped in colour is equal parts anxiety and joy for me. In a way I am having fun with my disability on this single and album associating sound with my colourblind vision.”
