Goose Island presents British indie legends The Coral at Manchester’s Gorilla on Wednesday 1st April as part of a series of UK shows this summer taking place in Bristol, Glasgow, Manchester and London.
The Coral are fresh off a UK arena tour with Supergrass and the psychedelic rockers have released a string of classic alternative anthems including ‘Dreaming Of You,’ ‘In The Morning’ and ‘Pass It On.’ This show is a serious underplay for the band who have headlined major festivals and consistently released some of the most interesting, intriguing and joyful music of the last 20 years.
The Coral said “’We can’t wait to play this show and and team up with Goose Island to brew our own beer and all for a good cause.”
Manchester’s Mick Ferry will be performing his unique stand-up routine on the night, having recently performed with Sean Lock at The Goose Island Brewpub in London. A regular face on TV favourites The Comedy Store, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and John Bishop’s Only Joking, Ferry is nominated for the ‘Best Compere’ in the Chortle Awards 2020.
As part of Goose Island’s commitment to supporting grass-roots, emerging talent, the evening will be opened by a local support act chosen by The Coral. Local artists can enter the competition through the link here.
The Coral have brewed a very special collaborative beer with the Goose Island Brewpub in Shoreditch, which is available exclusively on the night. ‘Dreaming Of Brew’ is a punchy IPA with malty undertones and the 6.2% ABV beer was created alongside the Goose Island Head Brewer Andrew Walton who is RateBeer’s 2019 “Brewer Of The Year”, Greater London. Whilst Dreaming Of Brew will be the focus beer for the evening, there will be a fine selection of award winning Goose Island beers available. The tap takeover will include Goose IPA, Midway Sessions IPA and Golden Goose.
Goose Island Presents Manchester is the first in a series of live music shows in 2020 which will champion iconic musicians, emerging acts and comedians with a host of exciting collaborative beers to be sampled at each event.
Goose Island has previously worked with some of the UKs most celebrated artists including Blossoms, Tom Grennan, Shame, The Vaccines, Everything Everything and Sean Lock.
Proceeds from ticket sales will go to music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins, an organisation who use music to enrich the lives of people with life-limiting illnesses, disabilities and feelings of isolation and Autism Together, a charity which provides a wide range of living options, day services and community support to people from all over the UK.
