Alternative radio chart toppers The Unlikely Candidates drop their new radio single “Gemini” out now via The Orchard. Purchase and stream the track HERE.
“Gemini is about the face we show the ones we love and the face we keep for ourselves, and all that is lost in translation between the two,” states The Unlikely Candidates frontman Kyle Morris. “I was coming to the end of a relationship where I felt like I didn’t really know the other person because I never saw that true unfiltered side of them and they never saw that side of me. As the relationship fell apart the distance between those two faces got wider and it became a guessing game of what we were thinking and feeling. It finally ended and I never completely got to know who that other person was. We both had two faces but all we ever showed was one.’
We have never really cared what kind of song we wrote as long as it was good. We are big fans of The Beatles and Blur for that. So when we started writing for the album we took off all the filters and stopped caring what someone might want to hear from us and let our influences run wild. Out of that Gemini was born and it’s one of my favorite things we’ve ever done. Even though it may be one of the most different songs we’ve written in some respects, it also felt just as honest to who we are.”
“Gemini” follows the release of The Unlikely Candidates’ previous radio singles, “High Low” and the band’s breakout song “Novocaine”. Stay tuned for more details on forthcoming releases by following the band on socials.
