Here is a selection of Festive Shows opening in London this December.

1. Stick Man
Bloomsbury Theatre, Bloomsbury

What starts off as a morning jog becomes quite the misadventure for Stick Man: a dog wants to play fetch with him, a swan builds a nest with him, and he even ends up on a fire! How will Stick Man ever get back to the family tree in time for Christmas?

This much-loved adaptation from Freckle Productions, the team behind Zog and Zog and the Flying Doctors, features a trio of top actors and is packed full of puppetry, songs, live music and funky moves.
Dates: 4 December 2024 – 5 January 2025

Based on the book by Julia Donaldson with illustrations by Axel Scheffler, this Christmas Stick Man will play simultaneously at The Lowry Salford from 10 December to 5 Jan, and at its new London home, the Bloomsbury Theatre from 4 December to 5 Jan. Tickets for both venues are on sale now.

2.Slava’s Snow Show

3. Maddie Moate’s A Very Curious Christmas
Apollo Theatre, West End

This seasonal adventure dives into the science of winter, uncovers the mysteries behind our festive traditions, and answers some of your most curious Christmas questions. Where does snow come from? How do crackers go BANG? And why do Brussels sprouts make you fart?!

Packed with interactive fun and brimming with festive cheer, Maddie’s live science show promises to be an unforgettable and informative holiday treat for the whole family.
Dates: 6 December 2024 – 4 January 2025

Following the success of her hit book A Very Curious Christmas, beloved children’s TV presenter Maddie Moate (CBeebies ‘Maddie’s Do You Know?) will make her West End debut with her brand-new festive show, MADDIE MOATE’S VERY CURIOUS CHRISTMAS, playing at the Apollo Theatre from Friday 6 December to Saturday 4 January, with a press performance on Sunday 8 December at 3.30pm. 4. Snowy Day
Polka Theatre, Wimbledon

Discover a world blanketed in wonder in this brand-new dance adaptation of ‘The Snowy Day’, inspired by the award-winning picture book by Ezra Jack Keats. Join Peter as he crunches through the snowy streets of his New York neighbourhood, in this intimate and interactive icy adventure.

Brought to life by Polka Theatre and Can’t Sit Still, the award-nominated company behind Oh No, George!, The Snowy Day is specially designed for 1-4 year olds and their grown-ups, featuring one dancer, original music and an immersive, enchanting set.

Keats’ award-winning picture book, which was released in 1962, became the first picture book with an African American protagonist to win a major children’s award, the 1963 Caldecott Medal. The book was named as one of the New York Public Library’s ‘Books of the Century’ and in 2020 was number one on the library’s “Top Check Outs Of All Time”. The book also ranked second in the Brooklyn Public Library’s list of most borrowed books.

5. Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs
Fairfield Halls, Croydon

Snow White is doomed to live unhappily ever after with her horrid stepmother, the Wicked Queen. In true rags-to-riches style, Snow White manages, with the help of her madcap friend Muddles, to meet a handsome Prince and make her dreams come true.

Croydon’s own Kellie Shirley will star as ‘Wicked Queen’ with Jamie Steen as ‘Dame Dilly Donut’, and panto favourite Charlie Guest returning to Fairfield Halls as ‘Muddles’.

6. Cinderella (Adults Only Version)
Kings Head Theatre, Islington

Cinderella needs help to leave her life of drudgery and explore a world full of adventures. A shy Prince needs someone to help bring him out of his shell and find his mojo. Could they help each other find the courage to change their lives? The Fairy Godmother thinks so! So, join her on this romantic roller-coaster of Christmas adventure!

For those of you up past your bedtime, there’s a naughty, adults-only show of our Christmas panto with some very special West End stars! Join Cinders as she gets a North London upgrade!
Dates: 11, 12 & 19 December 2024

King’s Head Theatre will present its first ever family pantomime in its new and flexible 250-seat auditorium this Christmas. Presented in this fantastic intimate setting, Cinderella will be fully immersive, with puppets from Little Angel Theatre, featuring sensational songs, hilarious slapstick comedy, romance and plenty of audience participation; firmly rooted in Islington, the panto will celebrate the borough’s rich history. Once a week, there will be a naughtier, adults-only show , with some very special West End and Broadway guest stars (to be announced, alongside full casting, in September).
