FEET have announced their hotly anticipated debut album ‘What’s Inside Is More Than Just Ham’ which will be released via Clapped Records on 2nd August 2019.
The band also release a brand-new single from the album today called ‘Ad Blue’ which was premiered on Jack Saunders’ Radio 1 show last night. Of the new single, Feet said “it was the first song that really became about rhythm, and creating a more dance-orientated experience for our audiences. It’s also technically about making unsuspecting cups of tea with a diesel additive as a H2O substitute. We all have bad days”.
The single is accompanied by a Wild-West themed video which “hints at the song’s conceptual source” explain the band. “…kettle’s, blue liquid, dancing, whilst also converging with a more general wild west theme about oil men, an idea that Jeep[frontman George] has been juggling around his bizarre head for a while. This sort of responsibility is beneficial for the rest of us because if the video does nothing for us we’ll be happy to send the corporate hounds in his direction”. The video can be watched here.
‘Ad Blue’ is the second track lifted from the band’s recent album sessions where they were joined by producer Cam Blackwood (Jamie T, London Grammar, Billie Marten etc) in the studio and later mixed by Alan Moulder (Foals, Interpol, Beach House). Experimentation was integral to the process, from singing about the unpredictability of the humble hot dog (which is where the album title stems from), to stepping out of their comfort zone & relinquishing traditional song structures.
Ad Blue follows recent top 10 single (vinyl) ‘English Weather’ which further solidified the bands status as one of the most exciting, quintessentially British guitar bands of recent years. The likes of NME, DIY, Dork, The Independent, Sunday Times, The Line Of Best Fit, Radio 1, Radio X and Radio 6 have shown lots of early support for the band, furthering the buzz around Feet ahead of a debut album that fizzes with bright, bold and intensely exciting songwriting.
Fresh off the back of their first ever headline tour, Feet hit the road again in April and May. The band support Honeyblood for the first 12 dates of their tour which kicks off on April 30th in Norwich – all dates below. Following the tour, the band take festival season by the scruff of the neck with a host of appearances already confirmed and many more to be announced very soon….plus a very exciting residency TBA.
With their debut album imminent, and more exciting announcements to come, 2019 is gearing up to be a big one for Feet..
“Going into a first album, you don’t have any prior intentions, you just pack the car with cathartic autobiographies, some Carling, and if you’ve not been dropped by your management after a month, you’ve had a result” said Feet. “Without any real sense of direction of scope, the album became really a reflection of the 8 or 9 months we spent moving from place to place writing the album. You doss about with each other for the majority of a year, something’s bound to happen, something to write about, and fortunately it did. And that’s the album. But that doesn’t sound very cool. It’s about drugs”.
