A new instalment of Ellie’s playful, unique brand of pop, ‘Bounce’ is as off the wall as it is catchy, featuring a host of homemade household samples and quick-witted advice on how to escape life’s toxic and stressful situations.

Ellie explains “‘Bounce’ is a musical reminder that sometimes you should run away from your problems. To remove ourselves from spaces and people who aren’t right for us and ride off into the sunset”. She adds: “It was born from me twanging a ruler against a table and the sound made me feel like I was in a Zelda-like world. I debuted the song at Glastonbury and everyone was bouncing and singing along even though they’d never heard it.”

Ellie offers us a glimpse into her mind through ‘In Case of Emergency’. The new EP is a collection of four irresistibly uplifting songs with messages to swing back, crush problems, breathe and get back on track.

Written, produced and recorded in Ellie’s bedroom, the EP revolves around self-care, coping strategies and the various methods she personally employs to navigate her own mental well-being. Speaking of the EP, Ellie says “‘This is a collection of songs describing my reflex responses to difficulties in my life. They feel like everything that goes through my head after a panic attack – these weird fantasy worlds that I reflexively jump into to help me stay positive and look after myself. It has meant the world seeing the reaction and support these four songs have received already, especially because they feel like such a part of me and my brain.”

In September, the 24-year-old will start her UK & EU headline tour, stopping in Glasgow, Leeds, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, before playing her biggest headline show to date at London’s O2 Academy Islington on October 4th. The Cambridge-born artist previously opened for UK Eurovision hero Sam Ryder.

Ellie is establishing herself as the true ambassador of the next generation of artists. Combining clever humour with a learned wisdom to create witty, life-affirming sounds, the self-made artist and producer has become an online, and exceedingly offline, phenomenon.

With her new EP, a UK & EU headline tour and a plethora of festivals on the line – Standon Calling, Kendal Calling, Camper Calling, Victorious Festival and Y Not; Ellie Dixon is clearly making 2023 her own.
