Following on from her last single ‘Laundry’ being chosen as Track Of The Day on BBC Introducing, London singer-songwriter NUUXS today unveils her latest offering ‘Dreamers’, out now via Goldun Egg / Absolute. The track is the fourth single from her forthcoming debut album Heirloom, due in 2021.

Produced by label boss Jake Gosling (The Libertines, Ed Sheeran) and co-written by Ragz Originale (Skepta), ‘Dreamers’ is a surreal pop ballad that combines NUUXS’ glittering vocals with moody piano keys, atmospheric strings and otherworldly sonics. “‘Dreamers’ is for anyone who needs a moment to remind themselves that dreams do and can come true. As we grow up we are slowly given things to carry that make it harder to feel that weightlessness we did when we were children. ‘Dreamers’ is for the person that needs to hear their dreams were and are real and must at all costs be kept safe,” NUUXS explains.

The news of her first album follows a stream of acclaimed EPs from the French-born, London-based singer, culminating in 2019’s Red Tape Mixtape, which garnered widespread tastemaker support from the likes of Annie Mac, CLASH, tmrw, The Line of Best Fit, BBC Introducing and Mahogany.

A deeply personal writer and performer, NUUXS’ music is closely intertwined with her experiences. Raised in a cult, where she was cut off from wider culture, her musical awakening began at school, forming an indie band and writing hooks for local grime artists – a snapshot of some of the wide-ranging sounds that inform her unique brand of alt-pop. A beguiling, yet liberating set of alternative pop, cut with darkness and introspection, Heirloom sees NUUXS primed to establish herself as one of the UK’s most intriguing and vital breakthrough artists.
