Rising duo Dolores Forever have released ‘Conversations With Strangers’, the title-track from the band’s new EP, out now on Sweat Entertainment. The band have also announced they will play a headline show at London’s Omeara on February 15th 2023.
Produced by Tom Fuller (Hurts, The Neighbourhood) ‘Conversations With Strangers’ is an infectious, free spirit of a song taking the listener on a swirling indie pop journey. Packed to the brim with hooks and lush harmonies, ‘Conversations With Strangers’ suggests a band approaching the top of their game. “It’s about the dark feeling of being disconnected with the world around you. The way that conversations with strangers allow for anonymity and self reinvention,” Hannah Wilson from the band said of the track. “And about the cyclical nature of anxious thoughts, the thoughts you stay at the party to avoid going home alone with.”
The track comes alongside a stunning video directed by Francesca Allen. Showcasing the duo’s fun, unapologetic nature, it’s a simple, but visually striking video. “In contrast to the heavier context of the lyrics, we wanted to create something playful, exploring the performative expression of joy and the notion of girlishness not as an age, but a state of mind,” Fransesca said of the video. Formed by close friends and songwriters Hannah Wilson (from Yorkshire) and Julia Fabrin (from Copenhagen), Dolores Forever met at a house party in London, connecting over their love of Mitski, Sharon Van Etten, Stevie Nicks and the Spice Girls.
Having already wowed at Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds Festivals this summer and with acclaim across the board from the likes of BBC Introducing, Radio 1, NME, The i, i-D Magazine, The Independent, The Line Of Best Fit, Dummy, Mahogany and more for their breakthrough debut EP ‘Baby Teeth’ and infectious single ‘Rothko’, the duo look set for a huge career. Already looking to the future with a string of magical singles to come, Dolores Forever are building unstoppable momentum. Watch this space.
