Since releasing their second album ‘For Now’ last year, Australian modern rock heroes DMA’S are building their profile towards matching their star status in their homeland. It achieved their highest UK chart position at #13, boosted by huge ongoing daytime support at radio. Now DMA’S are poised to make a major breakthrough with their third album, which will be released next year. Today they share the first taster of it in the shape of the new song ‘Silver’. The video was directed by New Zealand director Charlotte Evans (Aldous Harding, Marlon Williams).
‘Silver’ finds DMA’S gift for crafting unifying, arena-ready anthems elevated to new heights. It adds a surfeit of personality and American radio rock influences to their love of the British indie scene, making for a global-facing track rooted in their love of the Stone Roses and The La’s. Frontman Tommy O’Dell’s vocals possess a new found maturity and emotional resonance, delivering an unabashed love song that will surely connect far beyond their devoted fanbase.

Completed by guitarist Matt Mason and Johnny Took, DMA’s formed in Sydney and made an immediate impression with their 2014 debut EP. Their full-length debut ‘Hills End’ saw them crash into Australia’s Top 10, before ‘For Now’ cemented them as a force to be reckoned with. The album earned three ARIA Music Award nominations for Best Group, Best Rock Albu
In 2018 they became one of the first Australian bands to play the iconic MTV Unplugged session, following in the footsteps of all-time greats such as Nirvana, Oasisand R.E.M.The performance was captured in this summer’s ‘MTV Unplugged Live’ album.
DMA’S will follow the release of ‘Silver’ by joining Liam Gallagher on the opening seven dates of next month’s huge UK arena tour. They’re mutual friends and fans of each other’s work, with Liam describing ‘For Now’ as “Biblical.”
