Acclaimed actor and musician Damian Lewis releases his new live EP today, Friday, August 23rd. The EP features dynamic performances from his debut album Mission Creep, recorded during his successful headline tour across the UK. The release showcases Lewis’s captivating stage presence and musical artistry. Listen Here.
This live EP offers listeners a fresh perspective on Lewis’s music, capturing the nuances and chemistry of his band’s performances. Each track encapsulates the vibrant energy and spontaneity that have become hallmarks of Lewis’s live shows.
This announcement follows Lewis’s standout performance at the Latitude Festival last month, hailed as “spellbinding” by The Mirror, and comes ahead of his highly anticipated appearance at CarFest this weekend. Lewis wrote all of the original songs on the album during the first lockdown of the pandemic, allowing the continuation of a story that began when Lewis, after leaving school, took to the road with his guitar and went busking through continental Europe. This experience has stayed with Damian ever since and is reflected in the album’s raw authenticity and heartfelt lyricism.
The live EP will feature renditions of Mission Creep favourites, delivering an authentic experience of Lewis’s performances from his UK tour. Damian Lewis explains, “The experience of playing live is an electrifying connection between artist and audience. This live EP captures the spontaneous magic and emotion that only comes from performing in front of an audience. It’s a different energy from the studio recordings, and I’m thrilled to share this version with everyone.”
In addition to the live EP, Damian Lewis is excited to announce that he is already working on a new album slated for release next year. Fans can expect more of Lewis’s signature blend of storytelling and musical artistry, with some surprises. “I’m looking forward to diving into new material and exploring where this musical journey takes me next,” Lewis hinted.
