Hotly-tipped Australian pop artist CXLOE releases her brand-new track ‘Devil You Don’t’ today – a perfect encapsulation of the newcomer’s already signature dark-pop sound.
Co-written by CXLOE with Michael Pollock (Maroon 5, Jonas Brothers) and produced by MAG (Bebe Rexha, Zara Larsson) and Louis Schoorl (5SOS), ‘Devil You Don’t’ explores the idea of hiding behind a persona created in order to avoid dealing with your own personal demons. Of the lyrics, CXLOE says:
“Sometimes it’s better to deal with me as the person I portray, rather than dealing with my darker side. It’s better not to know the unknown”.
‘Devil You Don’t’ is CXLOE’s fifth single to date, following her debut ‘Show You’, which gained her international attention and the highly-coveted spot of opening for Maroon 5 on their Australian arena tour. From there CXLOE released a string of successful singles including ‘I Can’t Have Nice Things’, ‘Low Blow’ and ‘Sick’ feat. Gnash, described by Popjustice as ‘a totally amazing pop single’.
With a combined 22 million streams and counting, global acclaim from the likes of Popjustice, Clash, V magazine, Billboard, Line of Best Fit and more, plus international performances at This That and Falls Festival and plans for new music in 2020, CXLOE is set to be one of the UK’s most exciting talents to watch next year.
