Craig Revel Horwood and Rietta Austin have premiered their brand-new animated video at 4pm today on YouTube. The video, which can be viewed here, was created by animator Nigel Ward.
Speaking of the video, Rietta added “We wanted to create something fun for friends and families to enjoy and dance around the Christmas tree too. I think this animation has captured our personalities brilliantly. It encapsulates the spirit of Christmas with the emphasis being on celebrating a happy time with the ones we love.”
It’s Christmas, Merry Christmas! marks the first time Strictly judge and dancer extraordinaire Craig Revel Horwood has released music and he has partnered with his best friend – singer Rietta Austin.
Craig and Rietta will be battling for the Christmas Number 1 spot against the likes of Sir Elton John & Ed Sheeran and Gary Barlow & Sheridan Smith and ABBA. It’s truly life imitating art as, just like in the movie Love Actually, Craig & Rietta will be the underdog facing down these other great artists for the Christmas No 1 – but one thing is for certain, Christmas music will have many great new songs for everyone to enjoy! Listen or download the track via all digital platforms HERE.
Craig and Rietta have been working on an album but first they knew they wanted to release something fun for the festive season. Written by Rietta, Craig and Nik Page (who starred as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables on the West End), and self-produced by Rietta, the song will undoubtedly get you in the mood for mince pies and a cocktail or two. It’s Christmas, Merry Christmas! was premiered on Zoe Ball’s BBC Radio 2 show and has been picking up lots of plays across the airwaves in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
Describing the song, Craig commented: “It’s a simply fun filled FAB-U-LOUS family treat which is catchy and charismatic. We hope everyone will experience the joy and happiness of Christmas with us by dancing around the tree to it!”. Rietta added: “Craig and I are so delighted to release our first single. We had so much fun recording it and can’t wait for you to hear it and dance to it! It’s an uplifting toe-tapper, there are jokes, sleigh bells, a killer sax solo and its infectious spirit makes you just want to have a good time. Everything you could ask for during the festive season!”
